At Intershell Seafood, we are dedicated to bringing the freshest local catch and premium frozen seafood from our docks to your door. To guarantee peak quality, we utilize a single high-speed shipping profile for all orders to ensure your seafood arrives in optimal condition.
- Non-Perishable Items: We are pleased to offer Free Standard Shipping on all non-perishable items (such as dry goods & accessories) for orders that meet our $95.00 site minimum.
- Seafood & Perishables: All fresh and frozen seafood orders require specialized temperature-controlled Express shipping and are subject to the regional packaging and handling fees outlined below.
Perishable Express Shipping & Packaging Fees
To ensure your seafood arrives in peak condition, all perishable orders are subject to a flat-rate Insulated Packaging & Handling Fee based on your region. This fee covers high-density coolers, professional-grade gel packs, and dry ice.

- Packaging Fee: A packaging fee of $19.95 automatically applies to all orders under $95 (excluding shipping). Because of the high cost of specialized materials for smaller shipments, this fee helps us ensure your items arrive safely.
- Calculated Rates: For states Zone 5-9, shipping costs are calculated by weight at checkout using our negotiated FedEx rates.
Large Orders/Heavy Box Surcharge

Zone 2 Heavy Box Surcharge ($64.95): Orders weighing 40 Lb or more will incur an automatic $64.95 Heavy Box Surcharge. This fee covers the specialized packaging and the additional refrigerants (dry ice/gel packs) required to safely transport extreme weight.
- Zone 3 & 4 Heavy Box Surcharge: Orders weighing 15 to 35 lb will be charged $64.95 for the shipping costs. Orders 35 to 70 Lb or more will pay a $99.95 flat rate fee. Orders 70 Lb or more will pay a $149.95 flat rate fee.
Free Saturday Delivery
Intershell is proud to offer Saturday Delivery at no additional surcharge. While many competitors charge a premium of $12 or more for weekend arrivals, we provide this as a standard service so you can enjoy your fresh catch exactly when you need it.
International Shipping (Canada) Non Perishable Items
We are pleased to offer international shipping to Canada for non-perishable items only.
- Calculated Rates: All Canadian shipping rates are calculated in real-time at checkout based on destination and weight.
- Taxes & Duties: The customer is responsible for all tax and duty charges upon delivery. These fees are not collected at the Intershell checkout and must be paid to the carrier.
Delivery Days
- We deliver Tuesday through Saturday. There are no deliveries on Sundays, Mondays, or holidays.
Can I pick my delivery date?
- Yes, you can! Your order will be shipped 1-2 days before your requested delivery date.
Do I need to be home to receive my delivery?
- No, you do not need to be home, but it is the customer's responsibility to receive the package(s) on the date of delivery and within a timely manner after the order has been delivered.

All shipments are sent with a Shipper Release clause, meaning that as long as the driver feels comfortable leaving the package at the delivery address they will, without requiring a signature. This ensures that our shipments are received within a timely manner due to the perishable nature
of our products.
Can I update the shipping address after my order has been placed?
- If your order has not yet been fulfilled or shipped, we may be able to update the shipping address - Please contact us. If your order has already been shipped, updating the shipping address will cause a one-day delay, which may adversely affect the contents of your order. Please double-check your order confirmations ensuring that the correct shipping address has been entered.
Do you offer free shipping?
- At this point in time, we do not offer free shipping. At Intershell, we maintain a policy of transparent pricing. To achieve this, we do not include freight costs within our product prices. This allows us to provide our customers with the most accurate and up-to-date shipping rates based on their specific location and order size. We believe this level of transparency ensures you are always aware of the exact costs associated with your purchase.
Last Minute Orders / Same Day Order Fulfillment
- If you place your order before 12 PM EST, we can usually fulfill it to ship the same day, however it is not always guaranteed due to product availability.
Weekend/Holiday Orders
- Orders placed after 12 PM EST on Friday, or on weekends and holidays, will ship on the next business day.
Tracking & Support

A tracking number will be generated on the ship date by UPS or FedEx once the label has been printed and sent to you via email. This tracking number can be used to review the status of your shipment in transit, however, this tracking number will not be valid until the shipment is picked up from our facility. If after that time you are still not able to track the package, please contact our office for further assistance to speak with a representative. As soon as your order has been delivered, you will receive a follow-up email.
Address Validation
- Intershell will ship your order to the address submitted by the customer. If an undeliverable or incorrect address is submitted, we will contact you to verify the shipment. If there is no response before your order is packed and has been shipped, no refund or reshipment will be issued. Shipping to a closed business will also void the customer from any refund.
Shipping Address Revisions
- Changes Before Shipment: Any changes to your shipping address must be made before the courier picks up your package from our facility. The sooner you contact us, the better the chance we can fulfill your request. We cannot guarantee last-minute address changes.
- Changes After Shipment: Once your package has left our facility, we are unable to change the shipping address.
Courier Rerouting
- If it is too late for us to change the address, we recommend contacting the shipping courier directly and requesting them to hold the package at a local facility for you to pick up on the scheduled delivery day.
Avoid Delays
- Please be aware that if you request the courier to reroute the package to a new address, it will be delayed by an extra day. Due to the perishable nature of our seafood, an additional day in transit could result in spoiled product.
Additional Costs
- If the requested address change is in a different state or ZIP code that results in a higher shipping cost, these additional charges must be paid before your order can be fulfilled and picked up by the courier.
Important Information/Disclaimers
- FedEx and UPS do not deliver to P.O. boxes.
- You are responsible for receiving your package on the delivery day. We cannot issue refunds for packages that are delayed due to a missed pickup refused delivery, or an incorrect address provided at checkout.
- Once your order has shipped, any delays caused by weather or the courier are outside of our control.
- If a selected delivery date is unavailable, we will contact you to arrange a new date.
