Bring the ultimate Cape Cod raw bar experience to your next event with a 100-count bulk mesh bag of live Wellfleet Oysters. Wellfleet oysters are what connoisseurs and master shuckers consider one of the most famous oysters in the world. Wellfleet’s unique geography, a sheltered harbor exposed to massive 12-foot tidal surges from Cape Cod Bay, flushes the beds twice daily with cold, pristine, nutrient-rich seawater. This constant ocean flow creates an environment where oysters develop exceptionally clean, sturdy shells and dense, plump meats renowned for their unmatched salinity and sweetness.
True freshness comes from cutting out middlemen. As a First Receiver based in Massachusetts, Intershell works directly with independent Wellfleet oyster farmers and local tide-line harvesters who have worked these waters for generations.

What sets the Wellfleet oyster apart is the dramatic 12-foot tidal surge of Wellfleet Harbor. This massive exchange of pure, frigid Atlantic seawater creates a distinct environment high in salinity and natural ocean minerals.
- Initial Bite: A sharp, electrifying wave of high-salinity ocean brine that immediately wakes up the palate.
- Mid-Palate Texture: Firm, plump, and deeply satisfying meat with a clean, crisp crunch.
- The Finish: As the salinity subsides, it yields to a smooth, seaweed-tinged sweetness and a remarkably clean, refreshing finish without any lingering heavy aftertaste.
Our live shellfish ship via Priority Overnight with gel packs to ensure maximum freshness and vitality upon delivery. We recommend cooking and enjoying your live shellfish within 1 to 2 days of arrival for the best quality and flavor.
Store immediately in the coldest part of your refrigerator. Do not put live shellfish in your freezer. Keep shellfish in an open-top container or bowl, never store them in sealed plastic bags or airtight containers, as live shellfish require oxygen. Never store live shellfish in standing tap water or ice water.
Shells should be closed, unless they are Live Scallops, Steamers, Razors, or Live Surf Clams as the shells naturally stay open and never fully close due to its anatomy. If any are open, give them a gentle tap and check for movement, if they don't pull shut, discard them.
