We've developed our own special recipe to create a pre-cooked, ready-to-serve Ankimo right here at our facility. Our process honors the traditional Japanese style of preparation, which involves careful cleaning, seasoning, and steaming to achieve that perfect, velvety texture. Each 5-ounce tube is a testament to our commitment to quality, a result of our meticulous process. Once cooked, the tubes are flash-frozen to lock in their exceptional flavor and freshness, ensuring that they maintain their integrity from our facility to your table.
For generations, the monkfish liver was often considered an unwanted part of the catch and tossed back into the ocean by fishermen. However, the Japanese chefs recognized its true potential, discovering that its unique qualities made it a delicacy. Today, Intershell Seafood is the largest buyer and seller of raw monkfish liver in the United States, with a majority of our raw product being exported to the discerning Japanese market.
