Right off the coast of New England, we are able to harvest fresh native squid - a special treat that everyone must try! Usually, squid is usually frozen as soon as its caught to preserve its shelf life - it is rare to come across fresh squid being served at a restaurant or being sold at a fish market. Fresh Squid travels up and down the East Coast depending on the time of year, May is the peak season in New England.

Fried Calamari: A classic favorite! Simply coat the thawed squid in a seasoned flour mixture and deep fry until golden and crispy.
Grilled Squid: Toss the tentacles and sliced tubes in olive oil, garlic, and herbs, then grill quickly over high heat for a delicious smoky flavor.
Stuffed Squid: Fill the tubes with a savory mixture of breadcrumbs, herbs, and other seafood, then bake or braise in a rich tomato sauce.
Squid Stir-Fry: Add sliced squid to your favorite stir-fry for a lean protein boost that cooks in minutes.

Everything was fresh and delicious except the dressed smelt. Smelt was described as 4-6 inch in lenght however what I received was 2 -3 inches in length. Very small and diappointing.
The squid came in the morning my order was going out. Rose was efficient as usual and coordinated the shipping so we'd receive the freshest of squid.
Some of this will go in a seafood chowder and the rest will be gobbled up as soon as its done cooking.
