Here is the secret to that beautiful, golden-brown crust. After you've breaded your fish, lay the fillets in your air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray the top of each piece with a cooking spray like avocado or olive oil. A quick, even mist is all you need. While these sprays are often marketed as "0 calories," a light application is what gives you that perfectly crispy, golden exterior.

With this simple, no-fuss method, you can enjoy all the flavor and texture of fried fish with a fraction of the calories. It’s the perfect way to get a quick and healthy meal on the table.

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb lean white fish of your choice  (haddock, cod, red fish, pollock)
  • 1.5-2 cups of Panko crumbs
  • 2-3 Eggs (depending on size)
  • Cooking Spray
  • Optional: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder in Panko Crumbs
  • Lemon wedges – for serving
  • Tartar Sauce (Or any sauce of your choice) – for dipping

Preparation

  1. Cut your fish fillets into smaller pieces, fish n’ chips size. 

  2. Whisk eggs together in a bowl

  3. Add panko crumbs in a separate bowl, add seasonings to panko if desired.

  4. Prepare your air fryer by spraying the bottom with cooking spray

  5. Dip the fish in eggs, then panko crumbs, then in the air fryer – don’t overcrowd it

  6. Set air fryer to 350 degrees F, cook for 10-12 minutes

  7. Serve with lemon wedges & tartar sauce
