Overnight shipping - fresh seafood products

In order for your seafood to be as fresh as possible when it arrives at your door, we only ship Priority Overnight via UPS or FedEx for Fresh & Live Seafood Products (Orders should be delivered within 24 hours). This ensures the refrigerant we use does not melt during shipping, keeping the seafood inside of the box cold and ready to be refrigerated or frozen upon arrival. For frozen items, the overnight shipping option still applies. 

Fresh Seafood orders will be shipped & delivered by UPS or Fedex based on your requested delivery date.

  • For orders placed & requiring next day delivery, all orders must be placed before 12pm Monday - Friday. All requested delivery day should fall on on Tuesdays to Saturday.

  • If you placed your order requesting a delivery date that falls on a Sunday, Monday, or a holiday, we are unable to fulfill your order. We will contact you the next business day to ask when you would like to receive your order.

  • Although we may be able to still receive your orders in our system, orders placed on Friday (After 12pm), Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, are unable to be processed until the next business day.

  • Please keep in mind, shipping courier’s do NOT deliver on Sunday’s, Mondays, & Holiday’s.

  • UPS and FedEx do NOT deliver PO Boxes.

  • Overnight shipping is only available for orders including FRESH items.

For New England States, we offer $15.95 overnight shipping on orders less than 50 Lb. Orders over 50 Lb. will be a $60 flat fee.

Holiday shipping rates (december) for Zone 2

During the holiday seasons while everyone is online shopping for their gifts, shipping couriers are incredibly busy and delays are expected to happen. We are unable to offer $15.95 shipping delivery to New England States during a few weeks in December because the Priority of Overnight Delivery services must be insured. This is for extra protection with your order so in case delays do happen and the product arrives spoiled, it can qualify to be filed as a claim.


Saturday Delivery

All orders requesting Saturday Delivery must be placed before 12pm on Friday. Order’s placed after 12pm on Friday requesting Saturday Delivery are unable to be fulfilled until the following business day.

Intershell Seafood will verify with the shipping carrier on the availability of Saturday delivery to your shipping zip code. Unfortunately in some cases, Saturday delivery may not available to the shipping address provided, please contact us prior to placing your order to see if Saturday delivery is available in your area.

Calculating Shipping costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of your order and the Zone your state is in. To calculate an estimated shipping cost, add the items you wish to purchase in your cart. Start the checkout process. When you reach the “Shipping Address” section, type in your zip code - the shipping cost will show. When you remove or add items to your cart, the shipping cost will change based on the weight of your order. The heavier/more items you have in your cart, the more expensive shipping will be.


Delivery Times

We are able to offer estimated delivery times from our shippers as a convenience to our customers. These standard services times are not guaranteed and are provided as the average delivery time to a specific area. We ship our packages with priority service levels available and are always available to provide additional shipper information that may be useful. End of day services are approximately 11:00 pm.


Tracking Information

A tracking number will be generated on the ship date by UPS or FedEx once the label has been printed and sent to you via email. This tracking number can be used to review the status of your shipment in transit, however, this tracking number will not be valid until the shipment is picked up from our facility. If after that time you are still not able to track the package, please contact our office for further assistance to speak with a representative. As soon as your order has been delivered, you will receive a follow up email.


Address Validation

Intershell Seafood will ship all products to the address submitted by the customer. If an undeliverable or incorrect address is submitted, we will contact you to verify the shipment. If there is no response before your order is packed and has been shipped, no refund or reshipment will be issued. Shipping to a closed business will also void the customer from any refund. Any requests for address changes must be done before the order has been picked up by UPS. UPS and FedEx do NOT deliver to PO boxes, we are not responsible for any delayed shipments due to addresses being PO Box addresses.


Recipient Responsibility

It is the customer's responsibility to receive the package(s) on the date of delivery and within a timely manner after the order has been delivered. In the event, the customer is not available to receive the package(s), Intershell Seafood reserves the right to refuse any refund or reshipment. It is also the customer's responsibility to notify the recipient of all terms listed below.

In the event that your package is delivered, and something happens after it is left at the address, Intershell Seafood does not assume responsibility for the package. All shipments are sent with a Shipper Release clause, meaning that as long as the driver feels comfortable leaving the package at the delivery address they will, without requiring a signature. This ensures that our shipments are received within a timely manner due to the perishable nature of our products.

If the order has been delivered within the time frame but is not at the address that has been provided, Intershell Seafood does not assume responsibility for the package being delivered to the incorrect address.  It is the customer’s responsibility to contact the shipping courier the day of expected delivery to track their order.  At this time, UPS and FedEx is not reimbursing any claims being filed for missing shipments.

If the recipient of a package refuses or denies delivery for any reason, this forfeits any refund that may be available. This includes but is not limited to late delivery, damaged package, spoiled goods and applies to all packages.


PACKING YOUR SEAFOOD ORDER

We pack your order into an insulated box with frozen refrigerant to ensure your seafood maintains proper temperature. For live lobsters and crabs, items will be packed with wet saltwater paper on top and gel packs on the bottom.

All orders are processed inside our refrigerated workspace where the temperature stays at a consistent 38°F - 42°F to maximize the seafood’s freshness.

Before sending out all orders, we guarantee all shellfish and fresh fish is adequately chilled below 45°F before loaded on to the shipping courier’s truck. Shipper code: MA7802SP


ORDER DELAYS - Product out of stock

On rare occasions, delays can occur if an item that you ordered is not in stock, is sold out, or will not be available until further notice. We do our best to keep our online inventory accurate, but on occasion some items may be out of stock. We will contact you right away to let you know if something you ordered is unavailable so you may choose an alternative or otherwise, to let us know how to proceed.  


ORDER DELAYS - WEATHER RELATED

UPS and other shipping couriers can experience delivery delays prompted by weather-related issues that can occur throughout the country.

In cases when a winter storm is approaching areas in which we expect shipping delays, we will notify you by email to tell you that current outstanding orders will be shipped at a later date. Once a package leaves our facility, we have no control over delays that are caused by a shipping courier. Each time you place an order, we want to feel confident that you are going to receive your orders within the 24 to 48 hour delivery window so you can enjoy them with friends and family.
